The Baby Room (Ratio 1:3)
The Baby Room can accommodate up to 18 babies, aged 3 months to 2 years, in the care of six qualified Nursery Nurses who are able to give a high level of individual care. These babies follow their own familiar routine whilst still having fun with art, music, books and messy play within a stable environment.
The Toddler Room
The Toddler Room can house a maximum of 16 children at any one time aged between 2 and 3 years. They will be cared for with a ratio of 4 children to 1 Nursery Nurse. Their days will be full of activities and fun. They will also be prepared for a busier time when they move up into the Kindergarten.
The Kindergarten is the largest room in the Nursery. It takes up to 24 children. The children are all aged between 3 and 5 years. The ratio in the room is 1:8. There are two structured educational activities per day preparing them for moving to schools. These sessions follow the DFES guidelines for the Foundation Stage and concentrate on the seven areas of learning:-
- Personal, social and emotional development
- Physical development
- Communications and language
- Understanding the world
- Expressive Arts and design
Of course there is always ample opportunity for fun and games too!
Shropshire County Council Nursery Education Funding is available for 3 year olds at this nursery.
Outdoor Play Area
The nursery encourages children of all ages to play outside. To aid this there are safe and secure outdoor play areas. Children are supervised outside at all times. the children are also able to access our sensory garden and mud kitchen.
After School Club
Footsteps provides two mini buses to collect children aged 4-12yrs from two local schools The Catholic School and The Meadows. The children are offered a snack on arrival and a warm tea is provided. The After School Club runs from 3pm – 6pm where the children participate in activities, out door play and the opportunity to get home work completed before they go home.
